Tim Havel, Founder & CTO

Energy Compression Inc. was founded in 2009 by Timothy F. Havel, a chemical physicist with a long and distinguished research career at numerous academic institutions including the ETH Zürich, the Scripps Research Institute, the Univ. of Michigan, the Harvard Medical School and MIT. Bernard Ho, an engineer/executive who worked at Intel for sixteen years, as COO of the cleantech startup MTPV Corporation and as a partner at Shanghai Atlas Capital, joined as CEO in the Fall of 2011. Both Tim & Bernard were Sloan Fellows at MIT in 2005-6.

It has benefited from the scientific and business advice of numerous individuals, and in 2010 joined the Cleantech InnoVenture Center, a startup incubator operated by North Shore InnoVentures, with a mentor team including Chris Stepanian, Tom Kinneman, Tom Gazda, Eric Groft and Pedro Santos.
